The walkway is a two-story steel structure with entrances on two levels at both ends. It joins the main hospital with the Nurses Pavilion and allows staff to transport patients in a climate controlled environment. Visitors are also able to access the walkway which provides resting areas along its length for patients, visitors and staff.
